Privacy by D​esign

Traditional monitoring solutions can require cameras inside the home, microphones, wearable pendants, smartphones or other devices that depend on the client remembering to use them.

Our approach is fundamentally different.

Battery-powered presence sensors anonymously detect activity within selected areas of the home, such as the kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom.

The system can establish that someone has been present in a room and monitor patterns of activity over time — without capturing images, recording conversations or determining exactly what the person is doing.

Understand Daily Activity — Not Just Emergencies

The system provides a picture of normal movement around the home.

Presence sensors can be installed in important areas such as the:

Kitchen • Living Room • Bedroom • Bathroom

Rather than simply waiting for an emergency alarm, the system can identify changes in activity that may warrant attention.

For example, monitoring can help identify when a client:

  • has not entered the kitchen during their normal period;
  • has substantially reduced their movement around the home;
  • has remained in one area for an unusually long period;
  • is showing a longer-term decline in normal household activity.

This allows care providers to use changes in mobility as an additional indicator of wellbeing.

Going Beyond Kitchen Presence

A small wireless sensor can also be fitted to the refrigerator to record anonymous open and close events.

A kitchen presence sensor can indicate that the client entered the kitchen.

The refrigerator sensor provides an additional activity indicator that can help establish whether the fridge is actually being accessed during the day.

Combined with room presence information, this provides a more useful picture of daily living without cameras, smart appliances or any action being required from the client.

Anonymous Fall Detection

Optional radar-based fall detectors (requires USB power) can provide another level of protection for higher-risk areas of the home.

Radar technology can detect a potential fall without using a camera or microphone.

When a fall is detected, the monitoring platform can generate an alarm so that the appropriate care provider, family member or response service can be notified according to the configured response process.

This provides an important additional layer of safety while avoiding video surveillance in private areas such as bedrooms and bathrooms.

Optional Automatic Staff Attendance Records

No Staff Phone App Required

The same system can optionally automatically record the presence of authorised care staff when they attend the client's home.

Compatible staff identification works with the home's monitoring gateway to automatically record:

  • Staff arrival
  • Staff departure
  • Visit duration
  • Date and time of attendance
  • Historical visit records

There is no requirement for staff to open an App, scan a QR code or manually check in and out for every visit.

This provides care organisations with an independent electronic record that can assist with:

Timesheet verification • Service delivery records • Compliance • Auditing • Visit-duration reporting
